WHAT DOES A

MINE-SPEC VEHICLE REQUIRE?

Mine vehicles can be subject to specific legal, operational and site requirements covering areas such as safety, visibility, vehicle identification, access, equipment and the management of vehicle-related risks.

Requirements can vary according to the mine, vehicle, operating environment and the site’s applicable Code of Practice. TAURUS works with customers to understand the requirements of the operation and configure the vehicle with the appropriate Mine-Spec equipment and fitments.

This is more defensible because it doesn’t imply that every mine or every vehicle has exactly the same specification. The South African mining framework specifically recognises that mines develop and implement Codes of Practice addressing the risks associated with their own operations.
